We are proud of our work in enhancing not only the lives of people with skin and thrombotic (blood clot) conditions, but also our active role in benefiting the communities in the localities of our offices and manufacturing sites. This takes place through our support of local charities and worthwhile initiatives. Globally, LEO Pharma and the LEO Foundation also support charities, for example donating dermatological medicines to help charitable groups in developing countries.
For decades, the team at LEO Pharma in Ireland has worked closely with local schools and education groups to offer work experience as part of medical courses, offering young people an insight into one of the world’s foremost groups in dermatology and thrombosis. Our schemes are well-regarded in the communities that we have helped shape and have been a part of for decades.
Every year, the team at LEO Pharma UK supports local charities in Berkshire, for example, by contributing non-perishable food to local people in need of assistance in the festive season. In 2016, the UK affiliate also took part in the world’s biggest coffee morning with Macmillan, raising vital funds for people facing cancer.
Every September, colleagues in Ireland participate in the Peter McVerry Charity Cycle, which raises money for local charities who support the homeless. LEO Pharma has also supported many other local charities and sports clubs across Dublin and Cork.
Further information about the Peter McVerry Charity Cycle can be found on their website. If you would like to find out more about work experience and medical education schemes in Ireland, Contact us.
